Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master techniques, as well as her famous hairstyles that are spiky and blond. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top eateries, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of cooking and food from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she finished with A Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to study or do enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her understanding grew of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing challenges. Also, she's an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes an awareness campaign on children with diabetes. She frequently travels around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor as well as public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could share her true passion with other people.
