Emily Irene VanCamp initially aspired to become a professional actor, but became interested following a visit to Katie at the Ladies Room film set. She began to take acting classes and simultaneously landed appearances on television shows in her homeland Canada. She was a part of, among other shows, in Are You Scared Of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough after he was cast on the WB horror/mystery television show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. The show was cancelled after just nine episodes despite the positive review and ratings that were low. In reality, she was swift to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. She was a finalist to win 4 Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
