Milena Govich
Milena Govich, a director as well as an actor and musician has directed numerous episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as well as other. She was also the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and has been tapped to direct two pilots that are in development. Milena was one of eight filmmakers chosen by AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the only Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable, her short film and TV series proof of concept, was premiered at SXSW. It also took home Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been shown across the country and has won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared on more than 100 episodes of television acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She also appeared on the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) which culminated in her role as the initial and only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) [ABC Family] and Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also appeared in various films, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011), starring opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015) which starred opposite Method Man; and the movies Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena is a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she graduated with two major vocal performances and a premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named valedictorian. After graduation she took advantage of her ballet education to perform on Broadway in the production of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall of "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
