Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish: was born July 10, 1972. She is an actress, presenter, producer, model and TV presenter from Colombia. Vergara was the highest-paid female actress on American television between 2013 to 2020. Vergara rose in prominence when she hosted two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the early 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was the first big acting performance for Vergara in English. Following that, she appeared featured in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009, which received an ALMA Award nomination). Her first role was as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett for ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. For this role, she won four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-over roles included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also part of The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara is an American judge on America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born to a Roman Catholic family in Barranquilla. [8] Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara was a homemaker and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher. Vergara was referred to as "Toti" by her five siblings as well as many cousins. Vergara was originally a student at National University of Colombia in dentistry. Then she quit after two semesters to pursue opportunities in modeling and show business.
