Rosamund Pike
Born in London
in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She was the sole child to a
classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father
Julian Pike. She spent her early years traveling around Europe as a result of
her parents' work. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She
then started acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the
National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was signed
by an agent following being discovered. Pike also began acting at the National
Youth Theatre. Her first film was a big-budget action flick. But her subsequent
film work was mostly in independent films like Promised Land (2004) and The
Libertine (2004). In 2004, she won the Best Supporting Actress prize at The
British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) included Pike
in the role of one of the Bennet girls. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Doom
(2005) and Fracture (2006), she returned to film with impressive performances
in three lesser films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the
sci-fi action Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action movies as the
female lead alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
